TALENTED pupils from Maiden Beech Academy, Crewkerne are one step closer to science victory after winning places at the finals of the UK’s prestigious National Science and Engineering Competition.
Noor Limmer, Amy Barett, Ollie Wheatly, and Lewis Hannam excelled with a project that saw them study the gender of colour, and how much it affects people’s choices.
Laura Evans, Caitlin Moffatt, Libby-Kate Brine, and Stella Sabran also won a place with a project that saw them study the effects of food on the defecating habits of Guinea Pigs.
The groups will now go head-to-head with students from across the country at the finals, held at The Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair in Birmingham next March.
Noor said: “The competition has taken me on an amazing journey and I’ve definitely got my sights set on the big prize.”
