THE Rotary Club of Ilminster held a charity coffee morning at the Shrubbery Hotel last weekend.
Community service chairman Brenda Lake said: “We were thrilled at the response from local charities to participate in this event, where our main aim for this year has been to ensure greater community involvement.
“We had a wide range of charities, local craftspeople and other organisations attend the event, and all of them seemed really pleased with the results, both in terms of increasing public awareness and raising muchneeded funds.
“Through her charity contacts, my fellow Rotarian Linda Piggott-Vijeh arranged for many of the stallholders to support us.
“In addition to Fiveways Special School representatives, who had Christmas items for sale, we also hosted Horseshoes & Handprints, Purple Field Productions, Action Aid and others.
“All in all it was a great success but as with all things we could not have done it without my talented team of willing community service volunteers.”
