FERNE Animal Sanctuary is seeking home produce for a 'Dig for Victory' stand at their 1940’s Family Fun Day on Wednesday 5th August 2015 being held at their site in Wambrook, near Chard in Somerset.

The Charity are looking for donations of cakes, jams and chutneys, soaps, candles and other home crafted items as well as plants, seeds, fruit and veg.

Donations can be delivered to their site or taken to their charity shops in Chard, Langport or Bridport, making staff aware that they are for the summer open day.

Sarah Jackson, event organiser from Ferne Animal Sanctuary said: “There are guidelines for these donations at www.ferneanimalsanctuary.org/index.php?page=dig-for-victory-donation-guidelines or people can just call us.”

Any other donations - particularly raffle prizes and toys for their Toy Tombola - will be gratefully received.

Sarah added: “We are also running three ‘Best Dressed 1940’s’ competitions which will be judged at the end of the day. Categories are:

Best 1940’s Dressed Lady - winner receives a one hour personal shopper experience donated by Lush in Taunton and a £5 Pets at Home voucher

Best 1940’s Dressed Gentleman – winner receives two adult Roamer Return tickets on West Somerset Rail and a £5 Pets at Home voucher

Best 1940’s Dressed Boy and Girl – each winner will receive a £10 voucher for Toys R Us and an Annual Family Pass to Ferne Animal Sanctuary.

Sarah continued: “The 1940’s Family Fun Day is our major fund-raiser for 2015 and promises to be a fabulous event. Everyone at Ferne is really excited about the theme this year.

"We are all looking forward to seeing lots of people dressed up, a bumper crowd and everyone having a fantastic day.”
