THIRTY one former pupils of Ilminster Boy’s Grammar School from as far afield as Coventry and Surrey gathered at The Shrubbery Hotel for their annual reunion, 44 years after the closure of the school.

Some of those present, including local resident Thomas Dyer, had attended the school over 70 years ago.

After dining on spring vegetable soup and roast beef, a meal that has become a tradition over the years, current Old Ilminsterian president, Conrad Free, welcomed their guests, including Old Cerdic Mick Farthing and Old Crewkernians, George Wakley and Ed Goddard.
