Crews called out to lorry fire on Ilminster bypass
Firefighters from Ilminster, Chard and Yeovil were called out to a report of a lorry fire on the Ilminster bypass yesterday afternoon.
The crews were called to the A303 eastbound lane between Southfields and South Petherton just before 1pm and found that a fully loaded car transporter had experienced a small fire involving the brake linings.
A dry powder extinguisher was used to extinguish the fire prior to the arrival of firefighters. One hose reel was used to damp down as a precaution.
