ORGANISERS of this year’s Children’s Carnivals in Ilminster and Chard are looking for entrants to come forward and dazzle the crowds.

Young people and youth groups wanting to take part in the Ilminster Children’s Carnival on Saturday, September 26, 2015, and then at Chard on Saturday, October 3, 2015 can dowload forms by clicking the links below, with entrants now able to take part in both carnivals, or just one.

Ilminster Children’s Carnival will assemble – as normal – at the Ile Youth Club from 12.30pm with judging at 1pm before the procession starts at 1.45pm.

The procession will go from the youth club into East Street, Silver Street, Strawberry Bank, North Street, East Street and finish back at the youth club.

The results will be given at the end of the procession.

Entry forms for the Ilminster Children’s Carnival need to be handed into Ilminster Home Hardware by Thursday, September 24, at 5.30pm.

Meanwhile, Chard Carnival Committee crowned its 2015 Royalty last week during a ceremony at the Lordleaze Hotel.

Amy Winter is to act as Miss Chard with Abi Winter as Princess and Ellie Lacey as Attendant.

The trio will be in attendance at the Chard Children’s Carnival on Saturday, October 3, and then take centre stage for the main Chard Carnival on October 10.

The Children’s Carnival in Chard will assemble from around 10am at Manor Court Primary School and no later than 10.30am in readiness for judging at 10.45am.

The awards will be announced before the parade through the town which will start at midday.

The main Carnivals on the South Somerset Federation are as follows: Wellington – Saturday, September 26; Ilminster – Saturday, October 3; Chard – Saturday, October 10; and Taunton – Saturday, October 17.
