CHARD and Ilminster are set for a full weekend of sunshine and showers, with no rain forecast in the next five days.

In the South West summary on the Met Office website, it said: "A chilly start is expected, but there will be plenty of early sunshine. It'll tend to cloud over a little later in the day, but it will remain dry and bright."

The maximum temperature is expected to be around 16°C.

In the predictions for tonight's weather, it said: "Any thicker cloud will break up this evening leaving a largely clear night. It will turn rather chilly, and with just a light breeze, a few fog patches are likely."

Temperatures could drop as low as 4°C.

For tomoorrow, the Met Office forecast said: A cool, sunny start, with any early mist gradually clearing. Some patchy cloud is likely to develop later, but it should feel pleasant with sunny spells and a light breeze."

Meanwhile, the outlook for Sunday to Tuesday said: "Staying dry with plenty of sunshine, and light winds at first, making it feel a little warmer than of late. Nights will be chilly though, with some fog patches."
