THE April meeting of the branch was another well attended meeting.

There was a well attended workshop, entitled “Fantasy Follies”, run by Sandra Coleridge. For some of those taking part in the workshop it was a first foray into machine embellishing.

For others it was another chance to practice a technique which they had previously found difficult, or a chance to pick up some more useful tips.

There was so little time in which to complete the work so that the members went home with great enthusiasm to continue the project. Those not doing the workshop were pursuing different textile techniques, as diverse as cross stitch and felting, counted stitch embroidery and patchwork.

The South Somerset Branch of the Embroiderer’s' Guild (SSEG) meet on the second Saturday of each month in Horton village hall.

The branch has a varied programme of talks and workshops on a variety of textile related subjects. New members are always welcome. Whether you are an experienced needle worker, or just becoming interested in the subject and wanting to learn more, you will find something to stimulate your interest at our meetings.
