NUDISTS will be flocking to a campsite near Langport for the ninth annual Nudefest.

Organisers announced the festival would this year be held at Thorney Lakes, Muchelney as the current venue could no longer cope with demand.

The festival will take place between July 5 and July 11, and is organised by British Naturism.

It had previously been held in Cornwall.

Andrew Welch, British Naturism communications manager said that around 300 people attended the festival last year.

He added: "I think it is growing in popularity because more and more people are becoming enlightened to this way of life.

"Underneath our clothes we all have human bodies and the experience for many can be so exhilarating and its something which is good for us.

"We do see nude bodies in the media but often its with a sexual or erotic element and that's not what this is about.

And what can visitors to the festival look forward to this year?

There will be question time in the buff, tea parties, live music and disco events, visits to places neaby including the Somerset Cider Brandy company and much more.

Mr Welch added: "We've done a lot in our time in Cornwall and we still wanted to remain somewhere in the South West which was accessible as people from all over the county come.

"Previously we've run trips to a brewery, 10 pin bowling and the zoo but after eight years in the same place we have experienced all we can and because more and more people are attending the festival we needed a bigger venue."

The online booking has now closed, however a small number of pitches are still available.
