STUDENTS laced up their trainers and put on their sweatbands as they took to the race track for Holyrood Academy's sports day.
It was a record-breaking day on the field, with Maddie Crouch and Charlie Clifford breaking long-standing times.
Crowds of enthusiastic pupils, teachers and parents gathered at the event to help cheer on the athletes, which brought to an end another school year.
Laura Chapman, a teacher at the school, said: "Another amazing Sports Day is over and I was so impressed with the enthusiasm in which our students took part in the events. Maddie and Charlie are certainly sports stars of the future and I am looking forward to saying We grew them at Holyrood.
"There was a great atmosphere all day, with home-made banners and multi-coloured warpaint adding to the competitive spirit!
"The Year 10 helpers were brilliant at supporting the PE Department as well as participating in their own events – well done.”
