MUSICAL director and concert pianist Jonathan Delbridge is forming a new South Somerset Community Choir to be based in Crewkerne and is organising a come and sing evening for all those who may be interested in being involved in this exciting project.

Jonathan has a wealth of experience directing choirs. Until July 2015 he was based in Cornwall where he directed Keltique ladies choir and the Rame Peninsula Male Voice Choir.

Both choirs grew significantly in numbers under his leadership and won awards at music festivals. The choirs also gave tours of Germany and Jersey and performed in mass choir events in the Royal Albert Hall.

Since moving to Somerset, Jonathan has been directing the Ilminster Belles and has also formed scratch choirs for Christmas and Easter services at the Minster Church in Ilminster.

Speedwell Hall on Abbey Street in Crewkerne will be the venue for the come and sing evening on Monday, September 5.

Singers of all abilities are welcome and under Jonathan’s leadership they will learn basic vocal technique to sing in harmony, gain some insight into reading music – but above all will have fun.

No previous musical experience is necessary and this event is free to attend with light refreshments being provided.
