CHARD Children's Carnival will take place on the same day as the main event this year.
The events will be held on on October 8, the week after Ilminster's main carnival procession.
Zoe Bond, organiser of the Chard Children’s Carnival said: “My aim is to make the Children’s Carnival more popular and bigger – I hope that we can encourage more people to enter.
"I have been in carnival for 20 years and entered the children’s carnival myself. I believe that it is a great way to let the creative mind flow and have some fun. This year both carnivals in Chard are on the same day.
“There is no official deadline for entries, but I am aiming for entries to be back by the October 1. Of course, I will accept entries up until the day of the procession.”
