Why not visit the County Gazette jobs and training fair which is taking place today (October 26).

The popular event is taking place at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton.

Are you looking for an apprenticeship or training scheme?

Or a change in career?

The come along to the jobs fair at the County Room in the Colin Atkinson Pavilion at the Cooper Associates Country Ground in Taunton.

There will be representatives from a number of different types of businesses and organisations, offering advice on new careers, training and apprenticeship schemes.

This includes: Somerset Skills and Learning, Office Angels, Nurse Plus and many more.

Representatives from the Army and the Navy were also due to attend to give out advice, however due to unforeseen circumstances, are unable to attend.

However, anyone interested in finding out more about a career in the forces is advised to visit the army careers centre on East Street instead. 

Gabby Taubert from Taunton said:"It is a really good jobs fair.

"I went to one recently where about half of the fair was geared around jobs specifically for students where as this jobs fair was very approachable for professionals and the room was laid out very well. 

"There should be more job fairs like this.

"I will definitiely come to another one if there is one again."

Company, Train 4 All said: "It is still early on in the day for us here but we are really enjoying it.

"It is a good place for us to get networking with other businesses as well as gaining potential apprentices for Train 4 All which is obviously a priority for us as well as getting people enrolled on short courses. 

"It is lovely here and we are excited to see who comes through the door."

Recruitment Agency, Office Angels, were excited to be at the fair as they could see opportunities to get people into employment.

"We are at the jobs fair because we want to find nice local people and help them to get their ideal jobs.

"The fair is nicely organised and set out and the venue is great. 

"We really like the decor and can't wait for more people to come through the door."

Bed company Relyon said they had high hopes for the rest of the job fair.

"We have spoken to some people already but havent had anyone come by who has caught our eye yet.

"It is a great venue and hopefully more people will pop by after work and come and see us."

The event runs until 7pm today.
