CHILDREN at Sunny Ile Preschool saw what it takes to work the beat when they had a visit from a special visitor.

PCSO John visited the preschool, which is part of Greenfylde School in Ilminster, on Wednesday, February 8.

The children really enjoyed listening to how to say safe and how to cross the road safely.

As part of the day, they also got to have a look at the PCSO’s police car, and to stand outside it.

Cheryl Herrick, leader of Sunny Ile Preschool, thanked PCSO John for attending and said all the students enjoyed the visit.

She said: “As part of our curriculum, people and communities looks at different occupations and having PCSO John visit us has given the children a real insight to the work of a PCSO.

“The children learned about all the different aspects of the police and we would like to thank John for coming along.”
