STUDENTS at Greenfylde School enjoyed a visit from Harold the Giraffe and the Life Education bus.

This is the third year Life Education Wessex has visited to teach a range of lessons based around PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education).

Claire Oaten, headteacher said: "The profile of PSHE in schools is an issue that is currently being raised but at Greenfylde we have always placed a high priority on this area and the work Life Education undertake not only underpins this commitment but allows our children to access their learning in a more exciting and hands on way.

"Children knowing how to look after themselves and how to keep healthy and safe is a priority for anyone and we know the developmental work from Life Education visits supports this aim.

"We are also very excited to soon be starting Life Education’s new PSHE curriculum SCARF ('Safety', 'Caring', 'Achievement', 'Resilience' and 'Friendship') as this builds on the view that there is a link between pupils' health and wellbeing, and their academic achievement."
