SCHOOL HILL in Misterton is closed and two women have been taken to hospital after a car flipped onto its roof.

 Police closed the road just after 2.15pm today (March 16) after being called to reports of a crash near Crewkerne. 

Two women involved in the crash were taken to Yeovil District Hospital for treatment. 

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called at 2.09pm today after reports that a car had flipped over onto its roof on School Hill in Crewkerne.

"There were two passengers inside the vehicle when it crashed but their injuries are not believed to be serious. 

"School Hill has been closed and traffic on the carriageway is very slow moving."

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 2.10pm to reports of a crash on School Hill in Misterton. 

"Two female patients were taken to Yeovil District Hospital for treatment for minor injuries."

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were also called to attend at 2.13pm.  

Two fire appliances, one from Taunton and one from Crewkerne went to the scene. 

On arrival the crew confirmed that the incident involved one vehicle, which was on its roof.

Firefighters confirmed that no one was trapped inside the vehicle.

The scene and vehicle were made safe by the fire service.
