AN all female version of Neil Simon’s play the Odd Couple is taking to the stage in Ilminster.

Neurotic, neat freak Florence Unger leaves her husband and moves in with her friend Olive Madison, a slovenly sports-writer.

Despite Olive’s problems - careless spending, excessive gambling, a poorly kept house filled with spoiled food - she seems to enjoy life. Florence, however, seems utterly incapable of enjoying anything and only finds purpose in pointing out her own, and other people’s, mistakes and foibles.

Florence may seem suicidal but Olive is the one with murder on her mind.

Wildly, irresistibly and unremittingly funny, this classic comedy from one of the best comedy writers to date, still feels fresh and original.

The play which runs from May 24-27 at The Warehouse Theatre, and starts at 7.30pm each evening.

Tickets cost £9 for adults, £8 concessions, students £5 and are available from Harrimans Menswear, Silver Street, Ilminster or by calling 07943 779880.
