A DUNSTER man has pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving on the A303 near Ilminster.
Benjamin James French Bowman, 49, of West Street, Dunster, was charged with causing the death of 28-year-old Laura Barbosa Garrido.
The incident happened on July 7, 2015 and Bowman was due to stand trial at Taunton Crown Court this week for causing death by dangerous driving but the Crown Prosecution Service agreed to accept Bowman's guilty plea to the lesser charge of causing death by careless driving.
Bowman was driving his Isuzu Trooper along the A303 Ilminster bypass shortly before 6.30am when the collision happened, and caused a three car crash involving a Mini Cooper and a Fiat 500.
His case has been adjourned to Monday, July 31, when he will be sentenced at Taunton Crown Court.
