A MAN accused of offences of assault and criminal damage at Ilminster has had the case against him adjourned after he was recalled to prison.

Russell Osborne, 39, of Goldney Court, Bristol, is charged with assaulting a male by beating him during an incident at Ilminster on July 21.

He is also alleged to have damaged a kitchen unit door and a metal garden chair during the same incident.

The defendant had been due to appear before Somerset Magistrates at Yeovil to enter his pleas to the offences.

However, the court was notified that Osborne had since been recalled to prison as he was currently on licence.

The magistrates adjourned the case until August 16 when the defendant was ordered to be produced before a video link court at Taunton.
