EXCITEMENT is building as a number of events are planned for the build up to South Petherton Carnival.
Carnival week starts today (September 2) with a race night at The Brewers Arms from 8pm.
South Petherton Recreation Ground will host a family fun day from 1pm until 5pm on Sunday, September 3.
There will be a bouncy castle, stalls, rides, belly dancing and other attractions, including a barbecue and bar.
It will also feature the crowing of this year’s prince and princess, Oliver Coulson, eight, and Bethany Bisgrove, seven. This is followed by a quiz night at The Brewers Arms at 8:30pm.
The fun fair will be at the recreation from Wednesday, September 6tuntil Saturday, September 9. Carnival bingo will take place at the sports and social club from 8pm the following day.
Tickets for the grand carnival prize draw are available and winners will be announced at The Brewers Arms at 9pm on Friday, September 8.
There will also be a mile of pennies from 9am in St James Street on the Saturday before the carnival procession eaves the recreation ground at 7.30pm
