CHICKEN lovers across Somerset will not be able to satify their fried chicken cravings today as staff at the stores have confirmed they will remain closed for 24 hours.

A number of branches across the county were forced to close yesterday (February 17) after a hiccup with deliveries meant the stores ran out of chicken.

But staff at KFC in Taunton and Bridgwater have confirmed that they will not open today as chicken deliveries have still not reached them due to problems with KFC's delivery system.

Somerset County Gazette:

Taunton KFC displayed this notice in their window telling customers the store is closed

An employee at the Taunton branch said: "Sadly we are not open today.

"We are promised a delivery this afternoon but have been waiting for that since Wednesday, so I won't hold my breath.

"If it arrives, we can open this afternoon for tea-time until we close at 11pm."

Stores in Glastonbury, Frome, Wincanton and Weston-super-Mare will also remain closed.

Yeovil MP, Marcus Fysh tweeted to residents and said he hopes this fried chicken fiasco will be resolved soon.

A number of residents have spoken out on social media about the closures and they are not happy.
