A FOUNDING member of Ilminster Lions who spent his younger years travelling across Europe has seen his biking dream come true.
Bill Ambrose is a resident at Burnworthy House care home and was an avid biker in his youth.
However, the great-grandfather had to hang up his leather jacket as he got older.
Burnworthy House recently organised a special surprise for Bill, one more ride thanks Bob Cooper of the Langport Bike Night group.
Rachel, Bill’s daughter, said: “We can’t thank Burnworthy, Bob Cooper and the bike club enough for what they’ve done.
“We’re overwhelmed, as was dad. He thoroughly enjoyed it.
“It made his day and we are all so incredibly grateful.”
Bill was joined by an escort of his son in front and friend Colin behind.
Jaine Thorne, activities co-ordinator, said: “It was a magical moment for everyone.
“The morning was very emotional and will be a wonderful memory for Bill and his family.”
