A MAN who was attacked in Ilminster was left with a 'significant' head wound and rushed to hospital.
Avon and Somerset police are appealing for witnesses following the assault, which happened on Butts, Ilminster on Saturday, April 14.
A spokesman said: "We’re appealing for witnesses after a man sustained a significant head wound following an assault in Ilminster.
"The victim, a man in his 40s, was approached from behind and hit over the head with a weapon, possibly a metal bar.
"He sustained a large cut which required a number of stitches at hospital."
The incident happened between 1.30am and 2am on Saturday, 14 April.
