ENGLAND are going to beat Croatia 1-0 in tonight's World Cup semi final - according to rescue dog Ruby.

The nine-year-old rescue malamute being looked after at the RSPCA West Hatch centre is a football fanatic.

And she loves to speak to people as she shares her thoughts - so staff decided to channel her enthusiasm into some fun World Cup 2018 predictions.

Ruby has predicted Gareth Southgate’s men will score one goal this evening, just days after predicting the teams two quarter final goals.

The four-legged footie fan has stopped short of guessing the overall result as she joins the rest of the country questioning whether football is finally coming home.

RSPCA West Hatch deputy manager Anita Clark said: “Ruby loves nothing more than chatting to staff so we thought we’d give her an important job to do while she waits for her paw-fect home.”

The gentle giant is looking for her fur-ever home and staff hope someone will give the girl a chance to spend her final years in a happy place.

Somerset County Gazette:

Anita added: “Ruby is a female malamute who has sadly spent too long in kennels, patiently waiting for a quiet home of her own.

"She has become a firm favourite with staff at the centre, displaying many of the quirky behaviours of malamutes, not least her willingness to 'talk' when she wants attention or treats.

“Ruby has developed a back condition which can make her a little sensitive to handling.

"The condition is currently managed by providing her with gentle exercise, shorter regular walks being her preferred option.

"Ruby is looking for a quiet home with owners who have experience of malamutes and who have a garden where she can potter and enjoy the company of her new family.”
