TIME is running out to submit your entries in a special photography competition to celebrate Somerset.

This year, the Somerset branch of the Campaign to Protect rural england (CPRE Somerset) is marking its 50th anniversary and has teamed up with your favourite local newspaper to launch a photographic competition - and you can take part.

Amateur photographers are being encouraged to enter up to three photographs on the theme of Somerset’s Changing Landscape before July 31.

Editor, Paul Jones, said: “This is a very exciting competition - we are delighted to have teamed up with the CPRE to help showcase our wonderful county.

“With such an interesting theme, I have no doubt the quality of the entries will be extremely high. Good luck to everyone who takes part - get snapping.”

Paul will be part of a trio of judges - alongside CPRE Somerset chairman Prof Chris Lewis and CPRE member and professional photographer Kit Houghton - who will pick an overall winner, with a prize of £100 up for grabs.

Meanwhile, you will also be able to have your say and pick a winner, as this newspaper will be offering a Readers Winner prize of £50, which will be selected by public vote from a final shortlist.

The shortlist, featuring the top 50 photographs, will go on display later this year for you to make your selection.
