ANY speculation there might have been about former Yeovil Town keeper Chris Weale returning to Huish Park has been ruled out.
Yeovil-born Weale, who played a leading role in the Glovers' amazing success story of recent times, has been at Bristol City for the past two seasons.
But first-team opportunities at Ashton Gate have been rare and with the future surrounding Yeovil's present number one keeper Steve Mildenhall in the balance as he has yet to sign a new contract, there had been talk among fans about Glovers' boss Russell Slade trying to recruit Weale.
But Weale and fellow City keeper Stephen Henderson have now agreed to stay at Ashton Gate, although they will remain understudies to Adriano Basso.
Former Yeovil boss Gary Johnson, now at the helm at City, is delighted that Weale has accepted the offer of a new one-year deal contract at Ashton Gate.
