CRICKETER extraordinaire Joseph Butler won a winner’s certificate at the youth awards.
The 17-year-old is captain of his school team at King’s College in Taunton and acts as a role model for aspiring young players.
His dedication has seen him selected for every county age group from under-11 to under-17, and his commitment has been rewarded with the offer of a professional contract at Somerset County Cricket Club when he finishes school.
He has also represented England at under-17 level and has a place on this winter’s under-18 scholarship programme.
He was unable to attend the ceremony due to training commitments with England and later said: “I was delighted to learn that I had won an award.”
