A 1960s vintage double-decker bus on loan to children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent, will be returning by popular demand to this year’s Glastonbury Festival to help raise vital funds for the cause.
The adapted bus will roll into the four-day musical extravaganza on Thursday, June 26, and will be stocked to the brim with all manner of weird and wonderful fancy dress and vintage clothing which have proved very popular with festival goers on the hunt for some original items.
All of the money raised from the sale of donated items will support families whose lives have been turned upside down by childhood cancer.
Based in the centre of the festival market area, the bus also plays an important practical role as an area where young people who have been supported by the charity can hang out and relax during the hustle and bustle of the weekend’s activities.
Last year the CLIC Sargent bus made such an impression at the summer event that seven people signed up as volunteers for the charity.
CLIC Sargent’s head of trading, Jeremy Lune, said: “For those who are lucky enough to be going to Glastonbury Festival the CLIC Sargent bus is a must-see!
"Everyone loves a rummage round a charity shop, and this is the perfect way to top up your festival wardrobe with some chic retro items.
"Come and pay us a visit in the market area, grab a bargain and help a fantastic cause!”
Jeremy added: “For those of you not coming to Glastonbury Festival, donations of clothing and accessories can be made at any of our charity shops across the country.”
