ORGANISERS of Saturday's successful Piers Simon Appeal charity concert are hoping that this year's event will be a fundraising record-breaker.
Although the final total are still being totted up, organisers are confident they will have set their highest total raised so far.
The fourth PSA concert at Home Farm in Chilthorne Domer was an outstanding success with nine bands entertaining the crowds throughout the day and night with local group Storm giving the concert a rousing finale.
The PSA was formed soon after the death of Chilthorne man Piers Simon, 33, who was tragically killed in the Asian tsunami of 2004.
And Piers' mum, Celia, told the Express this evening that they are hoping to have raised around £20,000 for the charity which helps to support people from around the globe who are victims of disasters.
"It was a fabulous day and we'd like to thank everyone for their support," she said.
"We've still got to finish off all the workings out, but we are confident that the total should be around £20,000 - which will be a record."
