TALENTED dancers at the Yeovil-based Allen School of Dance have danced their way to a host of trophies at a competition in Blackpool.

The school waltzed and jived to 34 first places at the UKA National Medallists contest held at the world famous Winter Gardens.

The dancers, who are members of the school which is based at the Yeovil Dancentre on the Pen Mill Trading Estate in Yeovil, also claimed 21 second place prizes and 18 third places, as well as having many more finalists.

The event was the largest ever held by the UKA and there were over 2,000 entries from all over the country including Scotland, Wales and Ireland as well as the rest of England.
