THE Octagon Theatre has revealed a ‘star studded’ new season featuring a string of famous faces to appear on the Yeovil stage.
Included in the list of well-known faces appearing will be multi-million selling recording artist Barbara Dickson, Loose Women’s Jane McDonald and veteran politician Tony Benn.
The Octagon will also be building on its reputation for providing laugh out loud comedy on Thursday, January 14, when the theatre welcomes Sean Hughes - whose explosive style and banter earned him his own Channel 4 show.
Stephen K Amos brings ‘The Feel Good Factor’ – his new stand-up show on Wednesday, February 10.
Other comedy highlights will include Roy Chubby Brown who is back by popular demand with his popular but cheeky and controversial show on Tuesday, February 9. And there’s more, Jimmy Cricket will be bringing an evening of Irish Song, Dance & Comedy to the theatre on Saturday, February 13.
Live Music is always popular in Yeovil and this season sees some popular favourites back at the Octagon and some new faces visiting the theatre for the first time.
One Night of Queen, Fairport Convention, pianist Freddy Kempf, and the dazzling stage show Vampires Rock, which stars Toyah Wilcox, are all back by popular demand.
The bad boys of folk and rock – Oysterband - are set for an explosive evening of live music on Wednesday, January 20, and on Friday, January 22, stars of BBC One’s Last Choir Standing – The ACM Gospel Choir will bring an uplifting and joyful concert.
Fascinating Aida bring their delicious mix of comedy, music and cabaret to the Octagon and legendary performer Des O’Connor will bring an evening of comedy, laughter and music.
For three spectacular performances on February 24-25 be sure to catch the world famous Moscow State Circus who bring a show packed with jaw dropping feats of wonder.
Octagon Theatre manager, Adam Burgan, said: “We are delighted to have secured so many big name stars for our Spring Season.
“We’ve brought back many popular favourites but this season sees many new faces to Yeovil.
“I really believe we have something for everyone at the Octagon over the coming months and following many sell-out shows this season I would urge people to book up early to avoid disappointment.”
The Winter Season goes on sale today (Monday, November 9).
