POLICE are appealing for help to trace a man who sexually assaulted a woman as she walked along a road in Ilchester.

It happened at around midnight on Sunday, November 1, in Northover, a brightly-lit residential street.

The man, who was alone in a dark-coloured four-door saloon, pulled alongside and offered the 20-year-old a lift that she refused.

He then stopped, got out of the car and assaulted her. She fought him off and ran away. He drove off towards Yeovil.

He's described as white, 25-35 years old, 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build. He had mousey-coloured, short spiky hair and was wearing a lighter-coloured top under a darker top. He spoke with either a Scottish or an Irish accent.
