JAKE Mapstone and Will Willcox, of Street, were dismayed to see Glastonbury’s skate park demolished in the early hours of International Skateboarding Day in 2008.
They were given a Sandy Padgett Award for leading the charge to bring about a new, better facility by consulting young people, creating a design brief and lobbying for funding and support.
More than 700 people gathered to watch the opening of the new park last year.
