IN nominating 15-year-old student Camellia Sinclair, teacher Christine Parker, of the Castle School, Taunton, said ‘in nearly 30 years of teaching, I have never met anyone like her’.
She described Camellia, who was Highly Commended in the Pride of Somerset Youth Awards, as calm, clever, strong, sensitive and ‘a wise head on young shoulders’.
Camellia has been elected by peers as a senior student at Castle, where her achievements include winning the variety show, mediating between students and her head of house and leading a team that raised £2,500 for the military charity Help For Heroes in less than six months.
Her nomination read: “I have never felt so strongly that I was looking at a person who really could do anything – I fully expect her to be running a major plc soon.”
