Car fire tackled by officers

FIREFIGHTERS were mobilised to reports of a car fire in Crewkerne during the early hours of this morning.

The alarm was raised at just after 3.30am and officers raced to the Thomson Drive area.

They found one car to be well alight and the blaze also spread to a nearby fence and a garage door.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman added: “The cause of the fire is thought to be due to an electrical fault which resulted in severe damage to the car and moderate damage to the fence and garage.”
