PARENTS of younger children in the Yeovil area are being offered free training that will give them the skills to plan and take their own child’s birthday party.
This training will be offered by the SHINE charity at a low cost way of providing a great party during an economic downturn, and will give parents practical skills that can help them in voluntary or paid work.
There are eight places available and the course will be based at St Mark’s Methodist Church in Chelston Road, aiming to attract parents from the local communities.
The first session will be on March 17 and will continue on Wednesday mornings until June.
Tony Hampson, of SHINE, said: “Parents will get a chance to build their confidence in organising and leading games, will cook party food, and learn to make invitations.”
If you are interested in joining the walk call Tony on 07521-318930 or 01460-239253. You can find out more about SHINE on www.shine-somerset.org.uk
