A TEAM of Arctic explorers have made their way back home to Somerset.
Led by West Buckland-based veteran Dom Mee, the joint Royal Navy and Royal Marines expedition returned to the UK on Saturday.
Exercise Arctic Quest 1832 followed in the footsteps of Sir John Ross, a Victorian explorer who, together with his crew, became trapped in the Arctic in 1829 while searching for the fabled North West Passage.
The latest adventure was believed to be the first British expedition to reach this area for over 172 years.
