THE mental health group South Somerset Mind will be holding a fundraising summer fete on Saturday, June 25, from 10am to 4pm at the Yeovil Methodist Church in Vicarage Street, Yeovil.
It is hoped that the event will raise funds to support the delivery of the charities activities to the local community.
Volunteers and staff will be running various stalls including bric a brac, books and music, plants and homemade cakes.
Raffle prizes have been contributed by several local and national organisations including a £50 meal voucher from Palmers garden centre, a £20 meal voucher from JD Wetherspoon, free breakfast from Mortimer’s Bakery and a bag of goodies from Starbucks.
For the children there will be old fashioned fete games including guess the number of sweets in the jar and face painting. Refreshments will be available to buy throughout the day.
At lunchtime there will be a music performance by Stepping Out, a group of talented young local people who have written their own music and lyrics in order to challenge discrimination towards young people who experience either mental health issues or who have learning disabilities.
South Somerset Mind chief executive, Marsha Miles, said: “We are really looking forward to coming into the town centre and hosting a day which the whole family can enjoy. There will also be information available about the services we provide.”
