SNAKING queues greeted the opening earlier this week of a brand new 99p Stores in the centre of Yeovil.
The new 99p Stores - on Middle Street in Yeovil town centre – opened on Wednesday and as our photo shows, people were queuing up the street to get in.
A spokesman for 99 Stores said: "The queues were beyond our expectations.
“After the first hour of trading more than 600 shoppers had visited our store.”
Around 35 new jobs have been created with the opening of the new store.
The 99p Stores bosses worked with Jobcentre Plus to fill these positions.
Ten years ago 99p Stores was a one man band with a small store in Holloway North London. Today it has 146 branches.
