A QUIZ will take place at Cricket St Thomas next week supporting a Samaritans awareness campaign.
The Windwhistle Inn will hold the event for the 24/7 campaign on Tuesday, July 24, from 7.30pm, with teams of up to four people invited to enter, with no need to book.
‘John the Quiz’ who is the question master at the pub’s quizzes every Sunday has teamed up with the charity’s publicity officer Linda Vijeh to run the event.
Linda said: “With the decreased funding for services that were traditionally provided by such organisations as the NHS, we are receiving more and more calls from local people who just can't cope and need someone to talk to. “It is not always recognised that we receive no government funding at all and at each of our local branches there are no paid staff, we are all volunteers.”
