HOUSE builder David Wilson Homes is backing Bees’ Needs, a five-point plan to help bees cope this winter.
The company is encouraging people to help create or improve habitats for bees in the following five ways: growing more nectar- and pollen-rich flowers, shrubs and trees; leaving patches of land to grow wild; cutting grass less often; avoiding disturbing or destroying nesting or hibernating insects; and thinking carefully about whether to use pesticides.
