A Somerset man has reached the finals of ITV's popular cooking show BBQ Champ.

Simon Dyer,52, from Tickenham, has taken part in the five episode series, hosted by Myleene Klass, in which ten contenders from across the country compete against each other in various challenges.

These include creating BBQ masterpieces to reinventing culinary classics for the coals and catering for the masses, with one unlucky person being sent home each week.

The contest is judged by Man vs Food star Adam Richman and British chef and restaurateur Mark Blatchford, with the winner taking home a cash prize of £25,000.

Simon, a farmer, is a huge BBQ fan and apparently can even be found grilling meat outside on New Year's Day

The final will be shown on ITV on Friday at 9pm so everyone tune in to support our sizzling Somerset cooking star.
