A SEVERE weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for the South West, including Somerset and Devon.
Met Office forecasters are warning that higher temperatures wil bring thundery and heavy downpours with them between 10am and 10pm today.
The showers could see between 15mm and 25mm fall in an our, with the risk of localised flooding.
A forecaster said: "Heavy showers, which continued in some areas overnight, will develop more widely again today.
"Some will become thundery, leading to slow-moving downpours across the warning area.
"Some locations will miss these but where they do occur, please be aware of possible localised flooding and disruption to travel.
"Lightning could be an additional hazard. This is an update to pull the warning area south by about 50 miles, in line with latest ideas."

Temperatures are set to rise to around 18C today, dropping to 12C overnight, the forecaster added.
"As with most recent days, temperatures will rise, triggering some heavy downpours," he said.
"These may locally produce 15 to 25 mm of rainfall in an hour, bringing the risk of flooding, especially if affecting urban areas."
