REGGAE icons UB40 have announced a show at Taunton Racecourse.

The band, famed for hits including Red, Red Wine and I Can't Help Falling In Love With You, will perform at the site in June next year as part of their summer Grandslam UK Tour.

Featuring original members Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue, backed by a fantastic eight-piece reggae band, the group will be in town on June 11, 2017.

After forming in 1978, the band went on to achieve three UK Number Ones (Red, Red Wine, I Got You Babe with Chrissie Hynde and I Can’t Help Falling In Love with You), not to mention 17 top-10 hits.

And a spokesman for the event said fans could also enjoy a set by another icon of reggae.

"They will be joined by special guests The Original Wailers who will be performing those well-loved Bob Marley and the Wailers definitive songs that have become iconic, and introducing Raging Fyah," he said.

"Each of these shows promises concertgoers a first-hand experience of an outdoor event, with the addition of a real festival vibe; the result of the unique Grandslam format of the tour."

Tickets for the tour with special guests The Original Wailers and Raging Fyah are now on sale, priced at £35, plus booking fee (general admission) and £50.00 plus booking fee (platinum enclosure), as well as various hospitality packages, from www.tauntonracecourse.co.uk.
