THE Met Office has issued yellow warnings for fog and ice this morning, so do take care if you are out and about, particularly on the roads.

The Met Office say areas of freezing fog, some dense, are expected to last into this morning.

Icy patches will have formed on many untreated roads and paths an additional hazard.

Travelling conditions will be difficult with journeys likely to take longer than usual and delays to air travel are possible.

The warning is in place until 11am, by which time the frost should melt and the fog should have lifted.

This will lead to some sunny spells although it will gradually cloud over toward the end of the day.

Temperatures for the day will peak at around 9 degrees centigrade.

Tonight will be another cold and frosty night with largely cloudy skies, accompanied by some drizzle and possible light snow flurries.

There is a risk of ice in places.
