I WALK parts of the Taunton to Bridgwater canal every day.

I’m pleased to say that the majority of people clear up after their dogs.

However, I have real bug bears over those people who think it to be okay to bag the mess but leave the deposit on the side of the path.

I’ve noticed this regularly and I think these people are worse than those that don’t clean up - at least unbagged mess rots down.

I’ve also recently noticed some of these bags being white in colour.
That’s even worse.

The other people that annoy me are those who go out jogging or cycling with their dogs off the lead.

Half the time they can’t see what their animal is doing as they are a long way in front.

They may think they are doing a good thing in exercising their dogs but are not community minded about what presents may be left behind. I’ve noticed a couple of incidents but the owners have disappeared before I could take any action.

The paths are there for a place to walk, run, cycle, for pleasure – not for inconsiderate owners. As another thought, indirectly we are all having to pay through our rates for people to clear up rubbish, muck or whatever from these paths!
