A SOMERSET man was sentenced to three years' prison on Friday after he was convicted of two burglaries.

Michael Perry, 37, from Goldcroft, Yeovil, was jailed for two house burglaries in the town in April this year.

He was given three years (concurrent) for each offence.

Perry, who had been on remand after being arrested, admitted a further seven dwelling burglaries in Yeovil during April, which were taken into consideration by the court.

After the case, PC Jim Card said: “I hope that this sentence reassures the communities of Yeovil.

“We know that having your home burgled is extremely distressing and intrusive and that often the mental and emotional impact is far reaching and long-lasting.
