MAJOR disruption to trains running between Exeter St Davids and London Paddington is set to last until the end of today National Rail has confirmed.
There has been large disruption to services since 5pm today due to a fault with the signalling system between Exeter St Davids and Taunton.
A spokesman for National Rail said: "A fault with the signalling system between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple / Taunton is causing major disruption to journeys between these stations. We anticipate disruption will continue until the end of the day.
"Services running through the station may be cancelled or delayed. A limited number of trains can now run between Exeter St Davids and Tiverton Parkway while repairs are ongoing.
"Services between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple are currently suspended.
"Taxis have been arranged to operate between these stations.
"Passengers are advised to use station help points or speak to station staff for further assistance.
"Great Western Railway customers are advised to avoid travelling today and their tickets will be valid for travel tomorrow."
