TRIBUTES have been paid to the founder of a major Taunton business who passed away suddenly, aged 51.
Derek Bailey, who founded Bishops Lydeard-based Taunton Windows and Conservatories Ltd, died on Saturday, June 24.
He leaves wife, Joanne and two children.
Martin Old, managing director of the firm, said the business was continuing to trade.
“Taunton Windows and Conservatories wish to reassure all of our customers and suppliers that the business is continuing to trade following the recent sudden passing of its founder, Derek Bailey,” he said.
“The business has a sound financial base with a highly-skilled and experienced workforce and management team.
“We wish to extend our thanks to our suppliers and fitting sales teams at this time, as they have provided excellent support to ensure business continuity.
“The business is totally committed to maintaining the current high standards of professionalism and wide range of quality products, with a family-friendly approach.
“At this difficult time we would, as a workforce, like to extend our sincere condolences to Derek’s wife, Joanne, and her two children.”
