SOMERSET county cricketer James Hildreth set off today (Wednesday) on an epic sponsored walk in aid of Children's Hospice South West.

Accompanying him on Hildy's Hospice Hike were friends Adam Dibble, Ross Ward and Mark Turner.

The team set off from the charity’s Little Bridge House hospice, on their way to hiking to CHSW’s Little Harbour hospice in Cornwall via the South West Coast Path.

They will be camping along the way and hope to complete the 130 mile journey by Saturday.

Hildreth, who has played for Somerset since 2003, has chosen CHSW as his charity to support as part of his testimonial year.

He said: "Having a young family myself I really wanted to do something different to support this very worthwhile charity and I’m fortunate that my close friends were happy to join me on the challenge.

"We’ve already had some great support and if you see us on our way, then please do wave."
